Full Testimonials for Gordon Leenders:
I have had the pleasure of knowing Gordon Leenders for roughly seven years now. The words I would use to describe him are integrity, knowledge, passion, empathy, commitment and a sense of humour. We really had no idea how sub-standard the four previous Rehab Therapists were until Gordon came into the picture. He immediately established a great rapport with my son― setting him at ease with his empathy and sense of humour; motivating and inspiring him with his passion and commitment; and instilling a sense of trust with his knowledge and integrity.
Gordon has worn many hats during his time with us. Using his teaching background, Gordon provided tutoring services to my son, assisting him in obtaining his university degree. He has offered significant assistance in the area of speech therapy, working closely with speech language pathologists to improve my son’s speech. He has also worked with physiotherapists, helping to design and implement a variety of programs which have greatly benefited my son.
And then there are all the other areas that Gordon has provided assistance: helping my son to get out into the community, boosting his self-esteem and confidence, giving timely advice and encouragement, lending a helping hand or a sympathetic shoulder to help me cope during this incredibly stressful time.
I can’t even begin to count the times Gordon has gone above and beyond the call of duty for my son and our family. You just don’t see that kind of care and commitment everyday.
For all the above reasons and more, I would highly, highly recommend Gordon to anyone.

I highly recommend Gordon Leenders as a Neuro-Rehabilitation Therapist & Tutor.
I was initially impressed with Gordon’s enthusiasm, communication skills and his sense of humour which was an asset towards establishing a rapport with my son. He quickly was able to relate to my son by demonstrating interest, listening and validating in some form which took their relationship into a deeper level of commitment.
Gordon has been reliable, dedicated and eternally upbeat. He has shown the ability to take on various tasks and has held many responsibilities towards my son’s rehabilitation. Organized and diligent, Gordon has accepted with enthusiasm my son’s cues to his needs as well as the team’s direction.
The past six months, the focus has shifted to providing educational assistance. By Gordon providing tutoring assistance, my son has been able to manage his time, organize himself, study effectively and handle the stresses of trying to balance family life with an undergraduate life.
Gordon has been a tremendous asset to my son’s progress and for cultivating acceptance of my son’s disability into his life.

I am a Registered Practical Nurse and a Naturopathic Doctor and have known Gordon since 2007 as a Rehabilitation Therapist. Gordon has been working with my brother, a catastrophic brain injury survivor, helping him with his behavioral challenges as well as to regain his practical and mechanical skills.
Prior to his accident, my brother was a skilled tradesman who was very handy and independent. After his accident, he was prone to bouts of deep frustration, anxiety and anger at the loss of those skills. By virtue of his naturally intuitive perception, coupled with his experience, education and training, Gordon is able to prevent many of my brother’s outbursts by early recognition and positive redirection. For example, prior to his accident, my brother was able to manage all of his own vehicle maintenance. Due to his cognitive impairments, he is now unable to recall where to start or what steps to follow- causing him to spiral into anger and frustration. Gordon is very successful in preventing outbursts and alleviating my brother’s frustration through positive feedback and re-direction, always guiding him to achieve a positive course of action. This style has given my brother a sense of accomplishment and worth rather than focusing on his limitations.
Gordon has been invaluable in teaching my brother how to plan, organize and execute home projects, increasing his self-confidence. For example, prior to his accident, my brother was able to accomplish many home improvement projects without requiring any instructions or assistance. Though he has not been able to regain this skill,
Gordon has been successful in teaching my brother to organize himself in such a way to follow instructions with assistance. This has greatly improved his sense of independence.
Gordon has also been a big help to our family as well. Through his calm, patient and empathetic ways, he has been very supportive when dealing with family dynamics. By educating family members and working through some issues, we have been better equipped to cope with my brother’s needs and limitations.
Gordon is a credit to his profession and a valuable asset to any client and family who seeks his help. I’m thankful for his dedication and expertise to my brother’s progress and highly recommend him to any family who find themselves in a similar situation and in need of such help. We as a family have regained a sense of real hope for my brother, and Gordon has been a big reason for this.

My husband was involved in an MVA in 2007. As a result of this, he suffered a Frontal Lobe Brain Injury (with severe memory loss), chronic pain, and several other physical injuries.
After going through three different Rehab Therapists over the years, we were introduced to Gordon Leenders two and a half years ago.
My husband was worried it was going to be a waste of time like the rest of them but he has been extremely happy with Gordon.
Gordon introduced himself in a very friendly manner and immediately built a great rapport with my husband and our family. Gordon has a very good sense of humour, is always upbeat and enthusiastic, and has been very committed to my husband’s rehabilitation.
Gordon has been a very positive influence on my husband. My husband was so depressed before and Gordon has done a lot to boost his self-esteem. He gets him out of the house and into the community. He helps him run errands for himself and the family, encourages him to go for therapeutic walks, takes him to appointments, and motivates him to go to the gym so my husband can exercise in the pool and get some relief from his pain in the hot tub. My husband always enjoys Gordon’s company and thinks of him more as a friend than a therapist.
Gordon has been a pleasure to have as a Rehab Therapist. Our entire family enjoys his down-to-earth personality, and he has been a positive addition to our family.
I would highly recommend Gordon Leenders to anyone needing an excellent Rehabilitation Therapist who puts 100% into his work and always enjoys the time he spends with his clients.
